Have you ever wondered what a Chakra is?
A Chakra is a vortex of energy which runs across 7 different points along the spinal column.
Each Chakra has a colour, energy, emotion and a part of the body associated with it.
The function of the chakras is to be open to receiving energy from earth and universe on a continual basis. It’s when a chakra is out of balance blockages appear in your energy system and pain or dis-ease results.
Here’s a brief guide to the different chakras and the areas of your body they’re associated with.
The first chakra is the Root/Base, located in the base of the spine connected with grounding to mother earth. Emotional imbalances relating to the first chakra are security, material issues, financial, manifesting, trust and fear. The root/base chakra is the color Red. Physically, It’s associated with the adrenal glands, genitals, bones, blood, feet and spine.
The second chakra is the Sacral, located just below your navel. Your sexual energy and life force is here. Emotional imbalances in this area relate to your feelings around your sexuality, your creative expression or any shame and guilt you may carry. The sacral chakra is Orange and physically is the pleasure centre of the body, and associated with the female reproductive system, kidneys and intestines.
The third chakra is the Solar Plexus located above your navel. Your power and mastery of inner self is housed here. Emotional imbalances such as your sense of self, your feeling around personal power, how you view your intellect, ego, assertiveness, aggressiveness and low self-esteem are found here. The solar plexus is the colour Yellow. Physically it’s associated with the pancreas, liver, gall bladder, adrenals, skin and muscles.
The fourth chakra is the Heart, located in the centre of your chest. Love and relationships with self and others. Emotional imbalances such as grief, acceptance, sadness, loneliness, love, over giving and inability to receive. The heart is the colour Green or Pink. Physically associated with the heart, thymus, immune system, circulatory system, breasts, hands and arms.
The fifth chakra is the Throat, located at your throat it’s associated with communication, speaking your truth. Emotional imbalances are fear of speaking up, with holding expression, truth and honesty. This chakra is the colour Blue. Physically connected to the thyroid, metabolism, throat, jaw and ears.
The sixth chakra is the Brow/Third Eye and is located between the brows. Your centre of insight, psychic abilities and imagination. The brow/third eye chakra is associated with the colour Purple. Physically connected to the pituitary gland, eyes, nose and ears.
The seventh chakra is the Crown located at the top of the head and is the connection to the Source. The crown is associated with the colour Violet,White or Gold, it’s connectedness is to your spiritual purpose, wisdom, hope and faith. Physically associated with the pineal gland, upper skull, and cerebral cortex.
How can you work with your chakras?
If you’re struggling with something, then tuning into your body and feeling where you are out of balance can help.
You can then focus on the area and work with the associated chakra.
For example; if you have lower back pain, base chakra (often money issues, lack of self worth manifest as lower back pain)
- Wear red clothing (base)
- Imagine that energy centre with the colour red flowing through and cleansing or
- Go for a chakra balancing healing.

I’m interested in hearing your thoughts
As you may know I believe we’re all here to ‘Create Heaven on Earth’
Why did my mother or father say or not say this?
Why did my partner do or not do that? Why is it so hard to move on from old hurts?
How do I move on from the pain of past relationships?
A common theme I have noticed in recent times is clients asking the question…how do I move on from my pain?
Why can’t I let it go? It still upsets me, I think I’m over the relationship, dealt with it, but it still affects and hurts me, why?
Triggers are all around you, they bring memories and emotions which in-turn raise feelings, reminders, flashbacks of past hurts.
Part of the journey of life is to have relationships and grow through them.
Conscious or not you’re in relationships with everyone; friends, family, lovers, relationships in your business/work life as well. Some relationships are positive, some are a little more challenging and these are the ones giving you the greatest opportunity to learn and grow.
So how do you let go of past hurts or old relationships and move on?
- Let go of the blame game, it doesn’t get you anywhere.
- Look for what’s not resolved within yourself, any unworthiness or fear.
- Ask, are you looking for love outside of yourself?
- Are you seeking approval from those around you, instead of trusting in yourself and standing in your power?
- Are you taking full responsibility for your life?
I’ve found with myself and my clients letting go of the ‘why’ creates a space to move forwards and find inner peace.
The ‘why’ will take you round in circles and even if you’ve ever understood why someone else did something, it won’t change it.
I know it’s a difficult pill to swallow but “acceptance” changes everything.
Trying to figure out why someone did something is trying to work out what you did ‘wrong’
What if you didn’t do anything wrong?
What if you only need some new skills so you can learn more about yourself and move on to happier and more fulfilling relationships?
As I mentioned earlier relationships are powerful teachers if you let them be.
You may have been viewing yourself through the eyes of someone else and judging yourself based on their criteria.
By seeing yourself through your own eyes of love, accepting and supporting yourself, you will find peace and joy.

Finding and using your intuition empowers you to be more in tune with yourself on every level. Through integrating your inner and outer worlds your life will flow more easily helping you to live an inspired life.
Through developing your psychic self you will be more aware of your life purpose and have greater clarity and success in your relationships, health and finances.
Understanding who you are helps to awaken your true essence, your soul. Not only will you begin to know yourself better, you will understand other people on a much deeper level.
When you truly know yourself you will know if what you are feeling is about you or if you are tuning into others.
Insight into your current situation is one of the greatest gifts you can grant yourself and the steps you need to take are quite simple.
Step 1. Know who you are
You have a Physical, Emotional, Mental and Spiritual self, which you may or may not be aware of.
They are described as follows;
Physical – this is how you experience the world you live in through your body, .
Emotional – your emotional body is where you hold everything you’ve ever felt and anything unresolved within you. Old hurts stay within your emotional body until you’re ready to find and release the pain. Your emotional body allows you to feel joy, however, if you’ve been hurt in the past, you may have ‘shut down’ your feelings and be numb. It’s hard to feel what is happening around you if you’ve shut down.
Mental – refers to your mind and where you work things out, analyse things and plan ahead.
Spiritual – the part of you that reconnects you to divine consciousness and reminds you that you too are an eternal being, a creator.
Step 2. Knowing & Managing Your Energy
Everything in the universe is made up of energy. You have an energy field surrounding you called an aura. Your aura contains all of your thoughts and emotions from this life and, if you are open to it, from past lives as well.
Your vibration is unique and it will vary depending on your state of mind and your emotions. In time you will be able to sense other people’s energy as their energy reaches you before they do.
Step 3. Meditation
Through meditation you expand self-awareness which enables you to find inner harmony, letting go of all the disturbances within your energy field, allowing you to be more sensitive to your surroundings.
Step 4. Gut instincts
As you become more ‘aware’ you begin to return to your natural instinctive nature.
Animals are extremely sensitive, they use their instincts and trust their feelings, not questioning anything; they follow their inner guidance.
This is a lesson for all of us – as you increase your awareness you can learn how to trust your instincts.
Step 5. Good diet and increase water intake
As you begin doing intuitive exercises and working with your psychic faculties, your body is using more energy. Just like a car, your body needs good fuel in order to work properly. If you wish to clearly receive messages it’s important to keep your body in good working order.
Sugary or fast foods will leave your head foggy and your mind confused. Water is the essential element in transporting feelings, sensations and messages around your body. Your body needs to be well hydrated at all times and more so when you’re working with your psychic faculties.
Enjoy the journey, open you mind and your heart and most of all trust your intuition. If you would like to learn more and develop your intuition, why not join my online course and be like the hundreds of participants who now trust and have clarity.
